Reputation within Overwatch stands as one of the game's most debated and least straightforward systems. This system is needed to motivate players to be less toxic. She coped with her task quite successfully, but in addition, she became the cause of frustration: on the way to the coveted 5th level and the next bonus loot boxes, you will stumble every now and then and notice that the corresponding figure for Nick has decreased again for some reason or is stubbornly not growing. We tell you how it all works and how to "pump up" more effectively and stay at a high level
How Reputation Works in Overwatch
There are five reputation levels in the game, and they are scored depending on how much and what types of praise you receive from other members of the community. There are three types of praise, and each is marked with its own color:
-
"Initiative" (yellow) — usually given to those who suggested good tactics or were a good leader;
-
"Help for allies" (purple) — for those who strongly support teammates in battle;
-
"Sports Spirit" (green) is an option to reward players who are polite and maintain team morale.
You can find out the level and see what you or another person was praised for most often by looking at the information about the game profile — the level indicator also represents a pie chart with corresponding color sections. The reputation level is displayed literally anywhere where your player level and nickname are displayed.
How to Praise Overwatch Players
You can praise players and receive praise in the "Fast Game," "Arcade," and "Competitive Game". After each match, you have the right to mark any three players from it — both allies and rivals. But there are some exceptions:
-
A player from an enemy team can only be praised for his "Sporting spirit";
-
You cannot give a reward to a player who is on your friend list.;
-
you can mark a player only once every 12 hours (that is, if you get the same person again in the next match, you will not be able to praise him again).
You can praise the player as follows:
After the match, click on the appropriate platform button: *
-
on PC — N;
-
on PS 4 and 5 — R3;
-
on Xbox One and Series S|X — right stick;
-
on Nintendo Switch — right stick.
Select a player and click on the confirmation button. Decide on what merits you want to celebrate him for.
Why is this necessary?
It's not just about the beautiful number and the profile icon (although for some, it may be really important): for getting and maintaining a high level, from time to time, you will receive free loot boxes:
-
1 container per 2nd level;
-
2 — for the 3rd level;
-
3 — for the 4th level;
-
4 — for the 5th level.
In addition, when searching for a group, you can filter players by reputation level, which will help you be more likely to stumble upon more adequate random. At the same time, the matchmaking system itself will try to find teammates and opponents for you with a commensurate level of reputation. So it's worth raising the level for the sake of a comfortable game without livery, a cashiers and toxins.
